The band has electrified audiences since at venues celebrating Asian and American culture and music throughout California and across the country with their non-stop energetic and visual performances. With 50+ shows under their belts, akai SKY strives to share their distinctive sound with the international music scene.
akai SKY has been rated by ReverbNation as one of the top 50 rock bands in San Francisco, with the fine distinction of being the only band making the list with a Jrock background. The band released their first four-track EP album, "Tokyo Beat Riot", in May 2010 and in 2012, contributed a song to the 20th anniversary tribute album of the internationally acclaimed Jrock band L'Arc~en~Ciel. Near the end of 2012, Lawrence Hsu (guitar) and support guitarists Michael Nguyen & Dennis Zhu completed the mix.
The band released their debut single "Starstruck" to iTunes on August 11, 2012, and are preparing more songs for official release in the near future.

About Minor SetbacK
Minor SetbacK started with Andrei and Erikson performing acoustic music together for college events. Andrei then met singer Mari Takizawa from an international program he was partaking in and invited her to join the band. The trio recorded cover songs together and performed for a couple of events until Mari’s international study came to an end. After Mari’s departure, the
remaining members, Andrei and Erikson, decided to continue performing as a rock band, leading to the recruitment of Reiji, Eric, and Dean.
Now with Minor SetbacK complete, the band, with an average age of 19 years old, writes and performs music featuring both Japanese and English lyrics, gathering inspiration from bands such as ONE OK ROCK, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Androp, MY FIRST STORY, Coldrain, and Fear and Loathing in
Las Vegas. March 31, 2013 will mark Minor SetbacK’s official debut show.
