About akai SKY

Inspired in equal parts by Japanese pop melody as well as heavy alternative American rock, U.S.-based band akai SKY takes a straight-forward approach to modern rock music, marrying Japanese and English lyrics alike. Fusing the best of both worlds, akai SKY crosses the great divide between language and music in America, solidifying their premier status as California's #1 American Jrock band.

Formed in 2005 by guitarist Hayashi and bassist Umi, akai SKY completed the puzzle with vocalist Ryuusei and drummer Jinra in 2008. The band has electrified audiences since at venues celebrating Asian and American culture and music throughout California and across the country with their non-stop energetic and visual performances. With 50+ shows under their belts, akai SKY strives to share their distinctive sound with the international music scene.

akai SKY has been rated by ReverbNation as one of the top 50 rock bands in San Francisco, with the fine distinction of being the only band making the list with a Jrock background. The band released their first four-track EP album, "Tokyo Beat Riot", in May 2010 and in 2012, contributed a song to the 20th anniversary tribute album of the internationally acclaimed Jrock band L'Arc~en~Ciel. The band will release their heavily anticipated sophomore follow-up EP, "Heart, Attack!", on March 27, 2013.

About The Stars at Dusk

The Stars At Dusk is a Bay Area-based band who loves to show their audience a rockingly good time. They are quickly gaining attention in the NorCal anime convention scene for their trademark sound: A fusion of melodic pop, hard rock, and metal - as well as catchy lyrics with topics such as passionate love, hope & struggle, "musical erotica," and everything in between. Influenced and inspired by diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, The Stars At Dusk strive to inspire others and bridge cultures with their exciting, high-energy live performances.

The band was officially founded by the brothers Darrell Reconose (vocals) and Dean Reconose (drums) in November 2011, with a highly pop-rock sound. After debuting at DAiCon that summer, Pete Viri (bass) joined the band, and an unstoppable chemistry was born. Near the end of 2012, Lawrence Hsu (guitar) and support guitarists Michael Nguyen & Dennis Zhu completed the mix.

The band released their debut single "Starstruck" to iTunes on August 11, 2012, and are preparing more songs for official release in the near future.

About Minor SetbacK

Minor SetbacK is a Bay Area-based band heavily influenced by indie rock, post-hardcore, and Japanese music. Minor SetbacK loves to write songs with emotional lyrics and instrumentals featuring rhythmic flow and progression. They are also known for experimenting with different styles of music, from jazz to electronica to metal.

Minor SetbacK started with Andrei and Erikson performing acoustic music together for college events. Andrei then met singer Mari Takizawa from an international program he was partaking in and invited her to join the band. The trio recorded cover songs together and performed for a couple of events until Mari’s international study came to an end. After Mari’s departure, the
remaining members, Andrei and Erikson, decided to continue performing as a rock band, leading to the recruitment of Reiji, Eric, and Dean.

Now with Minor SetbacK complete, the band, with an average age of 19 years old, writes and performs music featuring both Japanese and English lyrics, gathering inspiration from bands such as ONE OK ROCK, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Androp, MY FIRST STORY, Coldrain, and Fear and Loathing in
Las Vegas. March 31, 2013 will mark Minor SetbacK’s official debut show.
