Story: Handknitted with Love.
The scarves and beanies are all hand-knitted in Peru, in the town of Ayacucho. In this region, 25% to 35% of all mothers are under 18 years old. With the help of Solid International, DIA Project, and the young belgian brand LN Beanies, we are glad to present you this very limited Jojo Project Winter Collection of knitwear. Giving these young mum work and enabling them to earn a living is a first step towards personal emancipation. Check the video below for more infos.
What's Next ?
It has been 2 years now that Mat & I launched this eco-responsible brand. You know every tiny detail of our story... because that's what we wanted. We wanted to build a brand that embraced fully transparent communication and that considered "Storytelling" the most efficient way of building a reputation... we wanted to tell you what it was like to start a business as 2 freshly graduated long-time friends. And please believe me when we say that these 2 last years have been the 2 most fulfilling times of our short lives.
Unfortunately, being great communicators isn't enough. Business is tough, and some things just didn't happen the way we wanted. Today, we're feeling stuck. We need to take a few steps back. Do something else for a while, and get some fresh air. And one day, who knows, we might be back with another brilliant idea. Let's come back to what we love... Storytelling: After having re-planted 2500 trees in Niger, having secured 1 year of drinkable water for a community of 2500 people in Sierra-Leone, and having helped peruvian teenage mums to emancipate professionally, Jojo is going on some well-deserved vacation... to be continued.
Want to share your toughts on this? Or maybe you think you have an idea that can shorten Jojo's holidays?
