Looking Back At My End Of Studies Project
Last year Julien Mourlon, Laid Back's founder asked me if I was interested to release a compilation album gathering LDBK's favorite artists. I immediately said yes and decided to make this my end of studies project for my Music Management degree.
After a few months of brainstorming and hard work we launched our crowd funding campaign on InideGoGo, using limited edition Laid Back T-Shirts and pre-orders of the CD as perks.
Here's an introduction video we made for the crowdfunding campaign:
The Visual
Oli-B kindly accepted to take care of the visual part of the project, making a "remix" of the famous Laid Back logo, which was then printed on stickers, the Laid Back tees (which were made by Limited Addiction) and which he also used in his cover design for the CD.

The Music
Over 25 musicians and producers (from 9 different countries) immediately jumped on board and shared their latest tracks with us. Each of them has a long history with Laid Back. Growing side by side over the years, we're proud to hear how they raised the bar for what will be remembered as an important milestone in Laid Back's evolution.
By May we finished the crowd funding campaign which ended on an unexpected $5000 sum. Whit this money we mastered the 15 tracks we had received from our artists, pressed 1000 CD's, printed 200 T-Shirts and sent these all over the world to our funders.
Here's the result of what we were able to achieve thanks to the 111 funders and all the contributors who helped us in one way or the other:

The Release Party
To celebrate this more than successful project, Mixcloud -where I was interning at the time- invited us to the Big Chill House in London, where we put up a massive 12 hour party on 3 floors with over 15 DJ's and live acts from all over Europe.
We asked our friend Caroline Lessire to make a short movie about the night and we were amazed when seeing what she made for us:
